Oz Cloth Nappies was founded by co-moderators Lara and Janie in 2003. We both wanted the best for our babies, and real nappies were it. At the time, there were few modern cloth options for Down Under babies. Oz Cloth Nappies grew from strength to strength, and has fostered the birth of many new local Work-At-Home-Mum (WAHM) small businesses offering high quality modern cloth nappy products.

From our humble beginnings we have now grown to over 600 members, and expanded into a wider community: an off-topic chat list, an irc chat group, a crafting list, and a cloth advocacy network. Oz Cloth Nappies was a driving force behind the inaugural Real Nappy Week Down Under in 2006, and continues to gain mainstream press and television coverage. We also have strong ties with the Nappy Network New Zealand.

Whether you want to find modern cloth nappies or start sewing your own, Oz Cloth Nappies offers a large, enthusiastic group to get you started, answer your questions, and offer encouragement and support.

Oz Cloth Nappies is and always will be completely volunteer-run by a moderator group at least fifty percent non-WAHM. The website and all events are hosted by donations. We have no budget and accept no paid advertising.
